The Fire Services Museum of Victoria requires new and energetic volunteers to help keep the museum alive! Any assistance, no matter how great or small, is beneficial to maintaining the viability of this great museum. Without the ongoing efforts of our volunteers this museum will surely close with over a century’s worth of fire fighting history lost. Help us survive by becoming a member and volunteering today!”

HELP the Fire Services Museum

The Fire Services Museum of Victoria relies upon entrance fees, donations, membership fees, and volunteers to run the museum and all it's activities.

100 percent of all membership and donation funds are used in the development, restoration and expansion of the Museum collection.

All Museum and Workshop workers are volunteers and we invite, and ENCOURAGE, any interested persons to come along and share in the varied activites of the Museum (if you can spare some time or share some skills, from sweeping and dusting through to mechanical know-how, or computing and office skills...we need you..!!).

Membership

Become a member of the Museum and help us to restore and preserve the history of fire fighting services in Victoria. Museum members receive our Newsletter outlining the Museum's activities and many upcoming events. Membership is open to everyone. Contact the Museum to join.

Benefits of membership include:

  • Free admission to the museum
  • One year's subscription to Flame, a newsletter published quarterly by the Museum.
  • Members are invited to be actively involved in all aspects of the Musuem and restoration workshops, but are not obligated to do so.

    Membership / Donation Type:

  • Adult Membership @ $30 ($10 joining fee & $20 per year thereafter)
  • Under 18 Membership @ $16 ($10 joining fee ∓ $6 per year thereafter)
  • Family Membership (2 adults and children under 18) $40 ($10 joining fee & $30 per year thereafter)
  • Life Time Membership @ $500 per adult (all welcome)

    Volunteers Always Needed

    We always need extra help. Many dedicated volunteers contribute time and talents to the Museum.

    New volunteers are always needed and welcomed.
    Opportunities for volunteering include working on appliances and equipment, organising displays, computer related work, marketing assistance, sorting, catalogeing and cleaning displays, etc.

    Donations

    The Fire Services Museum of Victoria depends on admission fees and donations to develop displays, upgrade facilities, maintain apparatus and promote various activities and events. Any donation over $2 is tax deductable, with a tax receipt issued if requested.
